Tuesday Night: My connection in Atlanta was delayed, so I missed the Umpires' Reception, but arrived just in time for the Coaches' Meeting. The Little League officials covered all the technical issues and reminded them they are representing the best of the best. That means, loosely translated, you will be a role model for youth sports managers and coaches around the world. Everyone was advised of how interviews are done and who has access to the various parts of the LLWS campus. Security is very, very tight to protect the kids and help them enjoy this experience.
I had a chance to meet my fellow umpires. Everyone is so excited to be here. What an honor!
